Description

These elegant French verrines combine fresh strawberries with a creamy mascarpone mixture for a light, sweet finish. Perfect for a fresh summer dessert or a cozy family gathering, this no-cook recipe offers vibrant flavors and a classic presentation.

Ingredients

Scale

500g fresh strawberries, well-ripened
250g mascarpone, at room temperature
200ml heavy whipping cream, chilled
50g powdered sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Fresh mint leaves, for garnish
Spéculoos, boudoirs, or shortbread biscuits, crushed (optional, for texture)

Instructions

Wash and hull strawberries. Halve or quarter larger berries; reserve some for garnish.
In a bowl, whip mascarpone with 25g sugar until smooth.
In another bowl, whip cream with 25g sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold into mascarpone mixture.
Layer berries and cream in glass jars or verrines; top with reserved strawberries and mint.
Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Garnish with crushed biscuits (optional) and additional berries.

Notes

Use frozen strawberries if out of season.
Replace vanilla extract with non-alcoholic vanilla bean paste if avoiding alcohol.
Stabilize cream with a splash of lemon juice or gelatin if desired for longer set.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
