Description
A classic French tart with a crisp pastry crust and juicy fresh strawberries, sweetened with sugar and a hint of lemon. A refreshing dessert for spring and summer.
Ingredients
500g fresh ripe strawberries
1 rolled pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
50g powdered sugar
25g softened butter
1 tbsp lemon juice
Confectioners’ sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Prepare pie crust and let it cool for 10 minutes
Line a tart mold with the pastry, prick the base with a fork
Wash strawberries, remove stems, halve larger berries
Arrange strawberries in an even layer on the pastry
Sprinkle sugar on top and brush with melted butter if desired
Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and fruit is caramelized
Let cool before dusting with powdered sugar if desired
Notes
Strawberries can be left whole or cut depending on size
For easier prep, use refrigerated pie crust
