Pâte sablée base (store-bought or homemade)
4 tablespoons granulated sugar
30g unsalted butter (for filling, optional)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 180°C (Thermostat 6)
Prepare pâte sablée base by following the directions on the package (store-bought) or shaping homemade dough into a tart shell
Wash strawberries thoroughly, hull them, and cut larger berries into halves or quarters
Toss strawberries gently in a bowl with 4 tablespoons sugar and 1 tablespoon lemon juice (if using) and let macerate while preparing the crust
