Ingredients
1 baguette or rustic bread
100g unsalted butter, softened
3–4 garlic cloves
1 handful fresh flat-leaf parsley
1 tsp Herbes de Provence (optional)
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Pinch of fine sea salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
Let butter sit at room temperature for 30 minutes
Peel and finely mince garlic
Wash, dry, and finely chop parsley
Slice bread into 1.5-2 cm thick rounds
In a bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic, parsley, Herbes de Provence, ½ tsp salt, and ½ tsp pepper
Rub butter mixture onto bread slices
Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F) and bake on a tray for 12 minutes
Drizzle slices with olive oil before moving to a baking sheet for final broil until golden
Notes
For maximum absorption, use a slightly stale baguette
Adjust garlic quantity to taste
Parsley can be substituted with thyme or rosemary
Best served warm; store in an airtight container for up to 2 days
